Grants
The Greater Greenville Community Foundation exists to make philanthropy and its benefits available to all. Our ability to achieve this mission depends upon our commitment to generosity, inclusion, integrity, and excellence.
We Value:
- The strengths and assets of community residents
- Lasting bonds of trust and cooperation that builds social capital
- The contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives
GRANTMAKING POLICIES
The Foundation makes grants to charitable organizations serving the greater Greenville, Pitt County area of North Carolina through a competitive grants process. Final grant decisions rest with our Board of Directors. We make community grants for a wide range of charitable purposes in areas including, but not limited to, arts and culture, education, health, human services, community development, and building social capital.
The Foundation does not award competitive grants to support the following:
- Individuals
- Long term operating support
- Projects that would ordinarily receive public funding
- Religious activities that serve only the members of a single congregation or promote a particular faith
HOW TO APPLY FOR A GRANT
To request grant funding from the Foundation, submit a grant proposal to the GGCF office. Grant proposal should include copy of tax exempt status along with funding request summary detailing the amount of request, background and history of organization, current and project budget showing current income and expenses, and detailed description of program that is requesting funding. All proposals are reviewed by Foundation staff and the organization requesting grant will be contacted within 30 days notifying them of the status of the grant proposal. GGCF accepts grant requests all 12 months of the year and does not operate on a grant request deadline. If an organization does not receive funding, they are able to re-submit their proposal on another calendar year.
